Ryanair boss: 'Buy a dog' if you want loyalty.

According to The Independent, Ryanair's chief executive, Michael O'Leary, those seeking loyalty benefits should consider "buying a dog" instead. This statement comes in contrast to the paid loyalty schemes offered by competitors like easyJet and Wizz Air.

Both easyJet and Wizz Air provide paid loyalty programs, such as easyJet Plus membership for £170 annually, offering perks like a free large cabin bag and seat selection at no extra cost. Similarly, Wizz Air offers the Privilege Pass for £214 per year, alongside a paid Discount Club.

These loyalty programs aim to reward frequent flyers and encourage repeat bookings with the respective airlines. However, Ryanair holds a different stance, expressing disinterest in such schemes due to their perceived complexity and the belief that passengers extract more value than the subscription cost.

Mr. O'Leary emphasised Ryanair's distinctive approach, highlighting the airline's low fares as the ultimate benefit. According to him, the more passengers fly with Ryanair, the more they save, making loyalty schemes unnecessary.
