Cunard receives new vessel

The newly inaugurated Cunard vessel, Queen Anne, made its grand entrance into Southampton on Tuesday, heralding the commencement of its maiden voyage.

As the 3,000-passenger ship gracefully navigated into its home port for the first time, it was greeted by an eager crowd of spectators lining the shore, along with small watercraft accompanying its arrival.

Fresh from the Fincantieri Maghera shipyard near Venice, where it was officially handed over to Cunard on April 19, Queen Anne brings forth a host of novel innovations for the renowned cruise line.

Embarking on its inaugural journey, the 113,000-ton vessel will set sail to Lisbon via La Coruña in Spain, inaugurating a summer season of sailings from Southampton following a ceremonial blessing and plaque exchange at the port.

Following a 14-day cruise to the Canary Islands, Queen Anne will embark on a captivating voyage around the British Isles, culminating in its naming ceremony—a significant event to be held in Cunard's cherished 'spiritual home' of Liverpool on June 3.
